Greg,

According to your description you have a Chrysler 318 C.I. motor. The first thing you should know is that Penn Yan used reverse rotation engines in these boats. This means the motor in that boat spins in the opposite direction than an car or truck does. An if the current motor in the boat is raw water cooled you have other issues to deal with like you would need brass freeze plugs, stainless head gaskets, cast iorn timing chain cover, marine water pump. And i'm not positive but I don't think that motor has the same bolt pattern as the older Chryslers do. I did it to my Penn Yan took the 318 out of my wife's 1976 Cordoba (she was not happy at all) reversed the rotation put all that stuff to make it work. That was 5 years ago and I have no had any problems at all. But it's a lot of work, well good luck with your project. Captbob.
