What ya think? Comments/recomendations. Check it out. More to come. We're hoping to retain THIS board for us "old timers" and newcomers. The new board is much faster and has a lot of buttons, but lacks the KISS and warmth of this board. "IF" we can retain THIS board we'll keep it pretty much "as is" with a link to www.pennyanbbs.org. We're waiting on Jim Cancil to release the password to Ryan Rothert to complete the transfer and make the link. Shooting for July 4 to open the new board (but you can go there NOW!) if Jim gets back to us in time.
We collected $599.78 as an appreciation fund for Jim Cancil. Jim graciously refused. However, he agreed to accept $499.78 for this site and to put the remaining $100 towards a better, faster, updated site. And, we've done that. Many thanks to Ryan & Chuck Rothert.
We expect to have LEVEL 2 (or something like that) at the top of this BBS for newcomers.
The new site is very simular to "The Other Site" ie "Brett's Site." We are NOT trying to compete with each other. Our ONLY intentions are to have sites for Penn Yan'ers to go to in case we have another SYSTEM CRASH as we did with this board. Brett Peck was the "Good Samaritan" that saved us all and gave us a place to go. I understand from Ryan that the new board is eaiser to do things with than the MSN site. That is the ONLY reason we're setting up this site instead of linking to Brett's site.
What we have here is "3 sites." The "old bbs", the "new bbs" and "Brett's Site". The question is not which site is BEST. The question is how can WE make the best use of THEM for US!
