Is there any difference between a marine head and a automotive head. I found a rebuilt set of heads with stainless valves. I use the boat in saltwater.

I wouldn't recommend it myself . If the valve guides ,valve guide seals, valve springs ,valve keepers ,valves are all marine spec you might get away with it and dont forget there is a difference in head gaskets also .

biggrin.gif I'd try to get a hold of scooter on this one. PYN are sure theres a difference on valve assemblys? Steel monel ss ceramic coated I guess I never even considered these assemblys to be any different as they are being oiled all the time. wink.gif
